Taxi Transfers to the Forth Bridges

The Forth Bridge is the red cantilever rail bridge most people picture first — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and still carrying regular passenger trains between Fife and Edinburgh. Alongside it, the original Forth Road Bridge (1964) now carries buses, cyclists, pedestrians and local traffic, while the Queensferry Crossing (2017) handles the main road traffic across the Forth. Seeing all three together, rather than reading about them, is the main reason most visitors make the trip.

North Queensferry gives some of the closest views, with the rail bridge passing almost directly overhead in places, while South Queensferry across the water offers a wider view taking in all three structures from the waterfront near Hawes Pier. We can plan a route taking in both sides if you want the full picture rather than a single stop.

Neither viewpoint has much dedicated parking right at the water's edge, and both villages have narrow streets that get busy in peak season, so arriving by taxi rather than driving yourself is often the more relaxed option — particularly if you're planning to walk around afterwards rather than just stop for a quick photo.

We regularly bring photographers out for early or late light, when the bridges are at their most photogenic, and we're used to coordinating small tour groups or coach parties wanting a fixed viewing stop as part of a longer day. Cruise passengers arriving at Rosyth's cruise terminal often add a short bridges stop on to a transfer toward Edinburgh, and we can build that into your onward journey without extra fuss.

If photography is the main goal, tell us the light conditions you're after when booking — early morning and late afternoon tend to work best, and we can plan pick-up times around sunrise or sunset rather than a fixed clock time. For anyone visiting with family or a wider group, it's worth deciding your stops in advance (North Queensferry only, or both sides of the water) so we can quote a fixed price for the whole trip rather than working it out on the day.
